Every Display has several coloring options:

-single color mode
choose 1 of 8 predefined colors to show everything in that color

-4 color mode
choose 4 colors of your own choice to let the display show them for the different brightness values
(computer needed)

-full color mode
We provide the matching colorization for one of the 4 available models

It actually worked as promised... perfect fix
All was going well for the last 10 years of owning a Sega Frankenstein machine, then one day the DM driver board caught fire…! Access to repair this board is really difficult and required a huge effort to rebuild. Looking at the PIN2DMD solution there was a lot of talk on the various forums that it could be fiddly to set up but worthwhile. I saw the GermanGamingSupplies offering of a fully configured, licensed and colourised version that was “plug and play” and a 15 minute replacement, with a relatively small price uplift. I have heard similar promises in the past that left me sourcing special little things for weeks.
Being an optimist I ordered it… delivery was pretty long at over a month and I was a little concerned it would be a mess. Today I received a very large box, filled with a lot of packaging protecting a PIN2DMD unit.
I plugged it in and turned it on, it all worked, I reassembled the unit and was ready to play. The colourisation will take a little while to get used to but it looks good.
From a quick check that it worked to building it all back in was under 15mins, beyond simple. Apologies to Dominik for my lack of confidence in haunting him on delivery and thanks for a nice surprise.
